The American Society of Home Inspectors® (ASHI®), founded in 1976, is North America's oldest and most respected professional society of home inspectors. ASHI's goals have always been to build customer awareness of the importance of a quality home inspection and enhance the professionalism of home inspectors.
ASHI offers the new and existing home inspectors education and resources at a national and local level through the 80 plus ASHI chapters. Through the Carolina ASHI Chapter, our members can obtain most if not all of their State required continuing education hours as well as ASHI CE credits.
ASHI provides you a voice at the national level. ASHI was a primary source for introduction of HR 4776 "Consumer Protection Home Inspection Counseling Act".
At the state level, the majority of regulated states use the ASHI Standards of Practice as the basis of the state home inspection standards. North Carolina uses a form of the ASHI Standards.
ASHI annually holds InspectionWorld®, the largest annual professional gathering for Home Inspectors. The InspectionWorld® speakers present information to better enable you to know and understand the issues and challenges facing you. Attendees are provided with real-world case studies and presentations that will inform, assist and help you to better succeed.
